How It All Started
Our Story
In 1985, James Lint Sr. wasn’t looking to start a security company. He was helping run the Northeast Georgia Fair when a neighbor called with news no one wants to hear: his home had been burglarized.
With a background in electronics and a copy of Popular Mechanics, James did what most people can’t. He built his own alarm system. The first version ran on a car battery, a siren, and a couple of switches. It wasn’t sophisticated. But it worked. And it gave his family peace of mind.
Word got around fast. A neighbor wanted one. Then another. Then a local business owner. James wasn’t trying to start a company. He was just solving a problem for people he knew. That’s exactly how Lint Security began.
James passed away in 2020. But the company he built from a car battery and a couple of switches is still here, still family-owned, and still rooted in the same community he protected for over 50 years.

Today, Jimmy Lint leads the company with the same approach his father used. He has been in the security industry since 1980 and holds certifications across burglar alarms, fire alarms, access control, and CCTV design and installation.
